About B-Jay: Uptown Washington D.C. native Bryan J. Williams (B-Jay) born January 5, 1992 is all to familiar with the life the streets of DC have to offer, growing up in both “Wood Terrace” & “Florida Park” two neighborhoods notorious for its crime drugs and violence, Bryan was exposed to a world that most people can only read about in newspapers and awe at during the evening news. It was in this environment, the streets of DC that B-Jay was groomed into the impeccable lyricist and storyteller he has become.

At the tender age of 14 with the encouragement and support of his mother Kim in addition to other family members and friends B-Jay began rapping, he dreamed of representing the people in DC’s inner city, the people living just blocks away from the White House & Capital Hill that have yet to have a voice and their stories told in the music industry. He wanted to “make it big”, however, hanging with the wrong crowd led young impressionable B-Jay into a major run in with the law. This encounter provided a wake up call for the then 16 year old and inspired him to write. He quickly learned that writing and rapping allowed him to express his emotions through his music in a way that he never knew he had the ability to do. A second encounter with the law at 18, stepped him back, paused his progress but allowed B-jay to gain a new perspective about his life and future all the while crafting his skills as a story teller.

“I knew the road I was taking, and I’m not saying that my intentions were all good, nut it made me who I am today. Everything I’ve been through you can hear in my music and that’s all that matters to me. Staying 100 for the people who support you” – B-Jay

His voice is unique, flow instantly appeals to memories of a young Notorious B.I.G in the 90’s with combined gritty content of present day artists both Rick Ross and Eminem topped with the mass appeal of Tupac. The maturity in his lyrics and his ability to completely engulf you into any story he’s relaying is something that rappers twice his age have yet to accomplish.

Since his release in December of 2010, B-Jay has been working non-stop. He is growing as an artist, building his brand, and making his mark in music, locally first with plans of expanding and taking his music nationally. In June of 2010 B-Jay signed with Mazerati Music, owned by former NBA All Star Steve “The Franchise” Francis also a DC Native. As the youngest member of the label he has been working diligently, recording and performing alongside some of Washington DC’s hottest up & coming acts. Now 19 he continues to hone his skills, recently releasing “The Statement” his most notable and personal project to date.
