About Phantom of DC: I am a D.C. Native hip hop artist that goes by the name of Phantom.
My love for music started in 2001 in the 5th grade. Listening
to artist such as Lil' Wayne, Ludacris, Bow Wow, Tupac, and Biggie.
I began wording my own lyrics until forming full verses that would have
the adults in the neighborhood nodding their head. I rapped about classes,
students, daily life, lunch, whatever came to mind. In the 8th grade I
joined the poetry club and began learning more about how to put words
together, and making sure every word has a reason to be there. I met up
with fellow hip hop artist Cayan and I started recording on my PC.
Using a sound recorder that only lasted 60 seconds I delivered my own
masterpieces into files that later became my first mixtape entitled
"Tha Hustla Kidd." Performing at talent shows and other venues I began getting the feel of it and fell in love with the stage. While the music
industry went through a great deal of changes I was in tune and
adapted. I am dedicated to my craft and love to express myself through
lyrical material and through each wavelength of every beat I tell my
story on. I have a new approach to music, punchlines are my specialty
but I can also switch it up and make the ladies feel appreciated with
an R&B tune. I listen to rappers of all categories, different areas
and backgrounds. I'm ready to put the Captial on the map harder than
anybody has and bring up fellow artists with me. With the D.C. culture
engraved in my brain and in my anticipated lyrics, I'm here to follow
my dreams and share my music with every corner of the world.
