About Sherif Mattar: Originally from Cairo, Egypt, Sherif grew up in Northern Virginia where he developed a love for the poetry and lyricism prevalent in East Coast Hip-Hop. Some of his greatest musical influences to date include Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Outkast, Simon & Garfunkel, and the Beatles. He also draws story-telling influences from the Great American writers Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald, as well as the legendary filmmakers Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese, with a strong passion for all platforms of art including music, film and literature. With his music, he hopes to inspire individuals to follow their dreams, be themselves, live freely, and most importantly enjoy life.
