About E From Da Wic: Emmanuel Smith better known as E from Da Wic grew up on the streets of Baltimore City. He and his sister grew up in an unstable home due to both parents having issues with drugs. E credits his grandmother who stepped in and helped to raise both children as his savior. At a very young age he was forced to be independent in order to get some of the things he needed to survive. While in school E loved to play sports and wanted to play pro football from a very young age. A new father, E strives to build a legacy for his young son. The streets of Baltimore have forced E to find the strength to not only survive but to want more for himself and his young son.

E started his musical career in the way most people get started, in church. Although that was brief he always enjoyed listening to hip hop and keeping up with the latest news. Rapping had not always been something E wanted to do, but he soon realized he had a gift unlike any other. People began to relate to his wordplay and the experiences he laid out so candidly for the world to hear. E prides himself on making music that everyone can relate to no matter sex, race, or lifestyle. When asked E describes himself as versatile, catchy, expressive and passionate about his music.

E signed with Varsity Entertainment Management and shortly after released his first single “My City” which features Dboi from Da Dome and Viety. The mixtape “Inner City Warfare” which dropped on 9/25/2010 featured several other artists managed by Varsity Entertainment and was hosted by Baltimore DJ- Squirrel Wyde from 92.3(92 Q) radio station. Jay Gramble, a Baltimore Times entertainment editor wrote” Best mixtape (Inner City Warfare) I heard all year what a way to end the 4th quarter.”

E has performed at many venues around the DMV and is currently looking forward to traveling beyond that in the future. It is clear that E is definitely one of the rising hip hop stars of the future.
